Cupcakes!

Do you like cupcakes? I could eat them every day. In fact, I have been. If I keep this up, I'll have to start wearing elastic-waist pants like Sophie. They're worth it though. The sweet indulgence of cake with that super creamy frosting is just -- well, who needs any shades of gray?

I'm an animal lover. My husband travels constantly, so I often take in foster animals. They get a peek at home life in a nice quiet, safe environment. Almost safe. I live across the street from my BFF Sophie Winston who is constantly sticking her nose into murder investigations. Other than that, we live on a pretty dull street.

It's so sad. Some of these babies have never been inside a house. I housebreak them and teach them some manners so they'll be ready to go to their furever homes. I took in a bird once. Won't be doing that again. Who would have thought a singing bird could rat on a person? I was in soooo much trouble.

To raise money for all the wonderful animal rescue organizations around here, I came up with the idea of a Cupcakes and Pupcakes weekend. Local bakers will sell cupcakes and donate a share of their profits to the cause. There are best cupcake contests, of course, and a ten-cupcake gala dinner to which canine and feline companions are welcome!

Sophie's helping me work out the details. Let's be honest. I always thought she had a cushy job as an event planner, but this is hard work! People can be really obnoxious. I won't mention any names but a certain person (N_t_sh_) is driving me up a wall. We'll be lucky if I'm not the next one to perpetrate a murder around here.

So what's your favorite kind of cupcake?

What a great fundraiser! Too far away for Sally-Forth, Tally-Ho and me, though, or we'd be there. Just send cupcakes...

Cyber cupcakes on the way, Willow. Some pupcakes for the doggies, too!

  • I have a new obsession with making cupacakes, I love them. My favorite is a cherry chip with cherry filling inside with cream cheese frosting. I actually have this book on hold at my library. I can't wait to read this book. I love the title and the story.

TDiamond, I love cherries! Not sure what you mean by cherry chip, though. Sounds yummy. Anything with cherry filling has to be good! Thanks for reserving the book. Wait until you see what happens to me. What a nightmare!

  • O wow, those cupcakes look awesome! And delicious! I wish I knew a bakery around here that sold them. I know I would be a frequent customer.

Aurian, the recipes will be in The Diva Frosts a Cupcake. I've watched Sophie bake them -- it's not hard. I think I could do it. Lucky for me I live across the street from her so I can mooch. Hey, she shouldn't eat them all herself, right?
