Summer Bucket List
Reagan Summerside here and thinking where the heck has summer gone? I just took down my summer display in the front bay window of the Prissy Fox Consignment Shop and put up denim.
Trouble is I’m not ready to let summer go so I made a summer bucket list, a list of things I want to do once more before fall sets in.
I want to do another outside barbecue with ribs and chicken on the grill. I swear you could BBQ a stick and I’d eat it. I love the smell of BBQ over an open fire and the meat sizzling over the flames.
And I want to make ice cream over at Auntie KiKi’s. She has one of those old ice cream tubs where you put the cream in the middle cylinder then add ice and salt around the edges and crank away. I need one more mouthful of creamy heaven.
I want to take another picnic out to Tybee Island and eat on the sandy shore. I love Tybee and only made it to the ocean three times this year. Barely enough to get my toes wet.
And while I’m out on Tybee I want a funnel cake with powdered sugar on top and a red snow cone. Don’t you love funnel cakes and snow cones?
Auctions are big in Savannah and there’s the end of summer auction out at Fort Jackson. Last year I bought an old blue and pink rug for the front entrance of the Prissy Fox. Got it for next to nothing. Love auctions.
I want to see fireworks over the Savannah River, get Auntie KiKi to make me the last Lemon Meringue pie of the summer and see if I can get Walker Boone to take me for one more ride in his red ’57 Chevy convertible.

Hi Reagan. I've read both of your adventures and loved, loved, loved them. You rock! Can't wait to see what you get yourself in for the next time. Let's see -- what did I cross of my bucket list this summer? Two road races that's what. Only 3.5 miles each but the weather was in the 90s and lots of hills but I did both in record time. celebrated with Ben & Jerry.

Hi, Mary Louise! Wonderful hearing from you. So glad you enjoyed Iced Chiffon and Killer in Crinolines. KiKi and I sure get around and that Walker Boone is more of a pain...and handsome...than every.

It's rained a loy so we haven't used the grill much. I'd like to have at least one more bbq.
ReplyDeleteI liked to go on a picnic with just me and my husband. We both have been working hard, just recently we both have a bad cold. :( We are movng into a new place in less than 3 weeks. We want some alone, relaxing time together (illness free). BTW I have read Iced and Killer, loved both! my email [email protected]
ReplyDeleteHi, Candace. Yes, you and your hubby need a nice picnic with some delish food. I love cold fried chicken and potato salad. KiKi does a really mean potato salad, me not so much, I just eat. it.
