Is it cold where you are? I keep thinking I want to go outside and run around. There are so many interesting scents to follow out there. But it's too doggone cold on Wagtail Mountain!
Gingersnap, my golden retriever sister, has lots of long fur to keep her warm. She pants a lot in the summertime when I think the temperature is perfect. I guess having a short white coat isn't ideal in the winter. Plus, it snowed!
My mom, Holly, keeps wrapping me up in coats that make it harder to move. But now the snow is so deep that I have to hop like a bunny to get anywhere. How do bunnies move so fast if they have to hop?
I live at the Sugar Maple Inn. A lot of people are there right now, including a really fun dog named Ella Mae. She's smaller than I am but she's a rascal and fun to play with. Apparently she's up for adoption. A very nice couple is interested in her, but I've heard people say she might be too rascally for them, and she'd better behave.
We had a blizzard, too. I've never seen anything like it. It took a lot of hopping through the snow but I found a frozen person sitting on a bench. It was pretty funny listening to the people debate whether he was real or fake. Just smell him, you goofballs! I tried to tell them . . .
Krista Davis told me I could give away two copies of MURDER MOST HOWL today because people need something to read by the fire. Anybody want a copy? You have to leave an email address in a comment to let me know because my Mom won't let me sniff you out.

I am afraid to check our temperature as I have to go out in this cold weather soon. Probably not near as bad as most people's as I live in south central Georgia. Probably high 20s.
ReplyDeleteI need to dress warmly as I don't want to wind up like that stiff person you found!!!

I'm loving our weather here in South Florida—50s and 60s today—because we were still in the high 80s through December (too, too hot)!

ReplyDeleteHey Trixie! It snowed here this morning (may still be coming down some) and the past few days have been freezing! I'm not setting one foot out my door unless I absolutely have to for at least today, maybe tomorrow as well. My cat and I are just gonna stay in and under the covers. Hope everybody manages to stay warm. Thanks for the chance to win Murder Most Howl.

Hi Trixie, we are SOOOO glad we are cats and we have a litter box and don't have to go out in the snow. Right now we have no snow but it is still cold, and we definitly like it warm. We love to sleep on the radiators. We are glad our Mommy makes us stay inside, we always feel sad when we see other cats outside in the cold.

ReplyDeleteHi Trixie!
ReplyDeleteWe're waiting for a big blizzard here in Maryland and I am already planning on spending the weekend reading, snuggled up under a blanket, drinking hot tea and cocoa, with Charlie the beagle by my side! I hope that you and your family stay warm over there in Wagtail!
Also, I agree with you - people need to pay more attention when you try to tell them something, a dog's nose ALWAYS knows what's going on! Nicole :-)

ReplyDeleteMy little dogs and I are huddled by the fireplace. I would enjoy a Wagtail mystery to keep us company.
ReplyDeleteTrixie, this week in Chicago it's too cold for even our Golden Retrievers! I will admit, they do enjoy a nice run in the snow as long as the wind chill isn't extreme. Keep warm. [email protected]
ReplyDeleteYes, please. I'll even give you a treat!
