You Don't Scare Me, Zombie!

You people think Halloween is funny? You think dressing in costume is cute? You think it's all fun and games? Baby, you're in for a rude awakening.

This is the holiday where spooks and spirits get their game face on and cross over from the underworld. Zombies rise up from the graveyards. Ghosts, too. And don't even get me started on werewolves. One of these days somebody in Proper City is going to adopt a dog from the pound and when the full moon comes, they'll be in for a big surprise. I can't even watch Michael Jackson's Thriller video without getting spooked. Spooks with rhythm are on a whole other level.

This town is filled with people who like to dress up in costume. What's so wrong with being yourself? 'Course not a lot of people can still fit into their high school clothes like I can. Dig these jeans from 1977. Baby, if I had a time machine I'd go back and buy five more pair. And you just know I can kick some zombie butt with these platform shoes.

Yep, Halloween makes this whole town go a little crazy and I am not having it. I bought four pounds of garlic at the market to ward off vampires, and I've practically worn a hole in my medallion from rubbing it for luck. I don't believe in violence but if I smell so much as a whiff of the underworld, you can bet I'll go all Foxy Brown on those spirits. So back off, bad guys! Ebony is watching for you!

  14. I also love the holiday themed stories. I have 4 library books right now from 4 well known authors who are celebrating Christmas already. LOL I'd love to be the lucky winner and get to add this book to my home library. It would sit right next to the first book from the series on my shelf.

  15. If I didn't know better I'd say my grandmother wrote this post! I love Halloween, not for the dressing up but for watching old movies and reading holiday themed books. The Wolfman is keeping me company right now. Thanks for the giveaway.
