August is the best month here in Seattle. Sure, it's a little hot for us double-coated breeds, but the sun is out, so Seattle residents toss their umbrellas into the closet and slink out from their caves to soak up some much-needed vitamin D. And they bring their dogs with them! We run, we play, we go to the beach--illegally, since Seattle doesn't officially let dogs on the beach--and we take lots of naps in doppled-gray sun puddles.
My favorite place to hang out is Green Lake Park. Not only is there this great walking trail I can drag my human, Kate, along, but there are crows, and squirrels, and ducks, and squirrels, and geese, and squirrels, and turtles, and...
Did I mention that there are squirrels?
The only bad thing about Green Lake is that Kate knows someone who was killed there once. But that was a long time ago. She's solved two other murders since then. Surely five is her limit, don't you think?
