My MRREOW can't be considered singing by any stretch of the imagination, but that doesn't mean I dislike music. I enjoy the hoppin' seventies music they play at Hot Stuff Coffee Shop. But tis the season, and except for when I'm concentrating on helping Sabrina solve a murder case, holiday tunes are dancing through my head - especially the Twelve Days of Christmas. It's not maids a-milking or pipers piping in my head, though. My version goes like this:
ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS, Sabrina gave to me:
A perfect spot beneath her Christmas tree.
ON THE SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS, Sabrina gave to me:
Two strands of lights,
And a perfect spot beneath her Christmas tree.
ON THE THIRD DAY OF CHRISTMAS, Sabrina gave to me:
Three scratching posts,
Two strands of lights,
And a perfect spot beneath her Christmas tree.
NOW, I know many of y'all are impatient and can't be bothered to read every verse - what with the gifts to be wrapped, and the cookies to be baked - so I'll cut to the chase . You can sing the last chorus all the way through in your head the way I do:

Twelve shiny ornaments,
11 clues to follow,10 bows to chew on,
9 red herrings,
8 yummy treats,
7 cardboard boxes,

In my husband's stocking this year, I've put in some of his favorite candy and a keychain from Wendy's to get him free Frostys for a year.

ReplyDeleteI don't know who you need them for, so I will just give varied examples. Small kids, not babies: crayons, jump ropes, jacks, bubbles. Teens: ear buds, chargers, gift cards to use when eating out. For older girls: makeup or makeup accesories. Older boys: shaving things. For babies: rattles, socks, spoons or bowls. For dogs: chew toys, balls, dog treats. For cats: little cans of food, a laser toy. My one cat always gets catnip mice, as they become her babies she carries around!

Kids are pretty easy but for adults maybe small bottles of lotion or shower gel like from Bath & Body Works, a handful of their favorite K-cups, a silly tie for guys that actually wear them, fun Christmas socks, fuzzy socks, fuzzy gloves (can you tell I like fuzzy and warm things lol) split up a multi-pack of gift cards like to Starbucks or McDonalds (usually in a 3 pack of $10 ones) That's all I got for now lol Tari H. barbie17(at)gmail(d0t)com

ReplyDeleteAn orange in the toe, a banana and a candy cane in the top. In between, bite-sized Hershey's candies, any small gifts that fit, and a can of wasabi-covered nuts. My husband likes wasabi. Go figure. And maybe a flash drive or something else small for computing. I usually keep the gift certificate to his favorite Tex-Mex restaurant for his birthday on the 29th.

I usually have a number of stockings to fill, so I buy a package of ball-point ink pens with the different color inks, package of high-light markers, package of mechanical pencils, a bunch of lip balms in many flavors, and an assortment of individual wrapped candies, both hard candy and chocolate. Oh, and some miniature candy canes. I pop inside plastic sandwich bags a pen and high-lighter or pencil, some of the candy, a lip balm, and then decorate the bag with a number of small holiday stickers. I've added other small things depending on the giftee such as holiday earrings, tiny toy cars, gift cards, bookmarks, and travel size toiletries. kimmwrtr (at) yahoo (dot) com

ReplyDeleteSome stocking stuffers: batteries, bath bombs, small make up items like mascara, gift cards, microwave popcorn attached to DVD, favorite kinds of candy or those only found at Christmas, CD’s, small bottle of perfume, fuzzy sock foot warmers, head band with ear muff made in it, flashlight, small pocket knife, baseball cards, hair bow or handband, leggings, gloves, nail polish, trail mix, book light, color pencils with small color book or if all else fails MONEY.

For stocking stuffers, I as well give various things..home baked goodies, their favorite candy, scratch offs, gift cards, tooth brushes and tooth paste, jewelry cleaner. Females - soft knee socks, their perfume, pedicure gift certificate. Males - their cologne, deodorant, socks..To anyone who reads, or the younger kids, gc to the bookstore..If they have pets, I include a pet treat or toys. If the adults have young kids who play with battery operated toys, I give batteries. Or give special coffee, or tea. Thanks so much!!!!
