I love the music and the food and the planning and decorating and some of the shopping ;-) but what really starts to get me in the series is watching the Hallmark and Lifetime (and now Netflix) movies and reading books about the holidays.

ReplyTruthfully its seeing the joy on my daughter's face in anticipation of Christmas. Christmas is a time of grief for me so I put on a brave face for my daughter and get through it as best as I can. But on the really bad days,I see the joy on her face and its like a warmth settles over my heart and the grief,though not completely gone,is lessened.

ReplyI love finding the perfect gifts for our two god-daughters. We got the youngest (3 years old) a book advent calendar as part of her gift this year. She Loves books, and it makes me so very happy. :) I also enjoy driving around and looking at all the light displays and then getting home, turning on our tree, making some minty hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows and snuggling up to my husband while we watch a Hallmark movie.

ReplyAlthough I love the Christmas books, the holiday movies, the delicious food associated with the months of November and December, gathering of family and friends, the decorating and party activities, I have to say my favorite thing about the holidays has to be the reminder of the reason for the season and the perfect love for each and every one of us. With this there is no joy in any of the rest. So I will keep his love in my heart and spread the joy of the season whenever and where ever I can.
