If you're a reader of the Bad Luck Cat Mysteries, you might be saying Colt who? Yes, you're right, I'm not a regular in Lavender, Texas, but I've come to town and you'll read plenty about me in the upcoming book - The Black Cat Breaks a Mirror - a new release coming out soon.
There's a really odd coincidence, if you ask me, about this cat breaking a mirror, since I wrote my country music hit "Broken Mirror" way before I ever met Hitchcock, the Bad Luck Cat. Not that I agree he's bad luck - he's actually a really cool and friendly cat that likes to come and hang out with me at the Athens Cottage I'm stayin' in. I don't even know if he broke a mirror or if he's falsely accused.
The whole purpose of me comin' to Lavender a few days ahead of the big concert I'm puttin' on was to give me some time to write what we all hope will be my next big hit. I say we - meaning especially my manager who's been on my case big time 'cause I've had a dry streak lately.
I won't know til I get back to the studio how my new ideas will pan out...but I have some tunes workin' - one of them was inspired by my new pal, Hitchcock. In his honor, I'll be playin' with these new black cat guitar picks.

I'm hoping I will be able to visit with friends in August. It has been a while since we've been able to see each other. mbradeen [at] yahoo [dot] com

In August, we have a trip planned to explore some of the Amish communities in several states.
ReplyDeleteWe had a trip planned to visit Utah to see all the national parks there that we had to cancel because of the stay at home orders. WE had planned for over a year on that trip. When you have physical limitations plus you are traveling with your 15 year of furbaby, it takes a lot of extra planning. We had everything planned from what we wanted to see and do plus where to stay as well as little side trips along the way. Being seniors with medical issues, we just pray that maybe we can take that trip next year. We are trying to go and do as long as we can. Then we can be content to stay at home and enjoy the view from our front porch.
We are praying that this other trip actually gets to come about. Time will tell whether we go or have to cancel it as well. Got notice that one community we were going to in Illinois has already cancelled all events for the rest of the year. :(
Thank you for the wonder opportunity to win on of your fabulous books! Shared and hoping to be the very lucky one selected.
Congratulations of the upcoming release of "The Black Cat Breaks a Mirror". Can't wait to read this one on my TBR list.

I understand Kay. In 2018, we were on a National Parks bus tour (13 parks in 13 days). Morning of 3rd day, my husband falls and breaks his shoulder and we had to fly home. Last year, he had cardiac issues, we had to cancel our vacation again. This year, we're booked on the National parks tour again, so hopefully we can go on it, assuming it is not cancelled by travel agency. My Husband's Honor Flight for this year has already been cancelled and it was scheduled for Oct 10!

ReplyDeleteA vacation at the beach would be wonderful. I haven't travelled in years due to illness and I look forward to a complete change of scene. elliotbencan(at)hotmail(dot)com
